TR-10 – External Corner

This detailed construction drawing shows the formation of an external corner in a rendered masonry cavity wall with partial-fill rigid insulation.

The drawing illustrates the bonding of the inner and outer blockwork leaves, continuation of the clear residual cavity, rigid cavity insulation and internal plasterboard finish around the corner. It demonstrates how masonry bonding, insulation, wall ties and the external render system should be coordinated to maintain structural stability, thermal continuity and weather resistance.
