TR-23 – Ridge Detail: Pitched Warm Roof

This construction drawing shows a typical ridge junction for a pitched warm roof with rigid insulation installed between and beneath the rafters.

The detail illustrates the dry-ridge system, ridge tiles, vented filler unit, ridge batten and brackets, roof battens, counter-battens, roofing underlay, ridge board and insulated sloping ceiling construction. It demonstrates how the insulation should continue across the apex to form an uninterrupted thermal envelope.

Insulation thicknesses, ridge ventilation and vapour-control arrangements must be based on the project-specific energy and condensation-risk assessments. Structural roof members, connections and bracing must be confirmed by the structural engineer or roof-system designer.
