CC-07 – Fire-Stopping Details

Fire stopping details: These practical drawings show how common service penetrations can be sealed to maintain the required performance of fire-resisting walls, floors and ceilings.

The sheet covers a combustible pipe passing through a floor, cables and small services passing through a wall, and a ventilation duct passing through fire-separating construction. Typical solutions include proprietary fire collars or wraps, tested penetration seals, fire-rated sealants, non-combustible backing materials and tested fire dampers.

Supporting notes address opening sizes, annular gaps, thermal movement, independent support and access to dampers for inspection and maintenance. All products must form part of a tested system appropriate to the service, opening and supporting construction.
