This timber frame window cill detail shows drainage, weatherproofing, insulation and airtightness at an opening in a rendered external wall. It shows the window frame, insulated wall construction, sheathing and ventilated render system. The sill arrangement provides positive drainage and helps protect the structure from water penetration. The detail also addresses insulation continuity, airtightness and sealing around the opening. It is suitable for inclusion within Building Regulations drawings, construction specifications and site installation information.
