RTF-17 – Load-Bearing Timber Stud Wall

This load-bearing timber stud wall detail shows the principal framing components, connections, bracing and opening requirements. It includes a wall section, framing elevation and connection details at adjoining floors, walls and openings. Guidance is provided for studs, head plates, sole plates, noggins, lintels and fixings. The drawing also illustrates acceptable framing arrangements around service penetrations. It provides a useful standard reference for Building Regulations drawings, structural coordination and construction on site.
