TR-05 – Internal Loadbearing Wall with Ground-Bearing Slab

This construction detail shows a typical internal loadbearing masonry wall supported on its own foundation where it passes through an insulated ground-bearing floor construction.

The drawing illustrates the relationship between the loadbearing wall, concrete floor slab, rigid insulation, damp-proof/radon membrane, compacted hardcore and concrete foundation. It provides a clear reference for maintaining the structural load path while coordinating the floor finishes and moisture-protection layers around the wall base.
